The AIRC is currently undertaking a research project for the Timber Research Unit (School of Architecture).

This study is a part of a "whole-of-industry" research and development programme "Adding Value to Tasmanian Hardwoods" that is being undertaken by key industry participants in Tasmania.

 

The project aims to review challenges and opportunities facing the Tasmanian sawn timber industry, and investigate experiences in similar industries overseas. Research will seek to develop understanding of the innovation system, its elements and their interactions, specific to the Tasmanian Industry. It will evaluate strengths and weaknesses and provide options for upgrade of the Tasmanian timber sector's innovation capability.
